Visit the Castle of Oudon, audiovisual scenes
about Loire river through the ages

The present dungeon and its fortifications have been built during XVth century by Alain de Malestroit, Lord of Oudon. This tower residence was very comfortable at this time : the rooms are well lit with huge mullioned and transomed windows and comfortably equipped with window seats, fireplaces and toilets. The Castle of Oudon surveys the traffic on the river and overlooks Anjou on the South bank. It stands on the borders of Brittany, ready to defend Nantes, the dukedom capital, from the greedy kingdom of France. The dungeon has been restored during the XIXth century by Ruprich Robert and classified "Monument Historique"  in 1866.
